Join us for 21 days of prayer and fasting as we seek God’s face and ask for his favor. Below, you will find prayer prompts for each of the 21 days that explore the themes of the Lord’s prayer found within the Psalms, our training ground to “teach us to pray” (Luke 11:1).
You have said, “Seek my face.”
My heart says to you,
“Your face, LORD, do I seek.”
- Psalm 27:8-9
21 Days of Prayer Prompts
Join us in prayer by meditating on the themes of the Lord’s Prayer in the Psalms with these daily prayer prompts. You may choose to begin your prayer time with The Lord’s Prayer as an outline or read the selected Psalm and focus on the truth God reveals there. How does the passage train us in prayer? Fight the urge to just say the words and be done. Really focus on the truth from God’s word, have a conversation with him about it, and pray about whatever God brings to your mind related to it.
The first week is focused on prayers of praise and intimacy with our Father who is to be revered as holy. These are prayers with an upward focus on praising God for who he is. It’s prayer that focuses both on his sovereignty as the one enthroned in heaven and also on our intimacy with him as our good Father.
The second week emphasizes our everyday needs represented by our daily bread and especially our need for forgiveness. These are prayers that have an inward focus on our needs and what is heavy on our hearts and minds, while also asking God to search our hearts and show us what he wants to change in us as we confess where we’ve let our love for lesser things overshadow our love for him.
The third week we’ll focus our prayers outwardly on our circumstances and on God delivering us from evil. We have a real, spiritual enemy who wants to steal, kill, and destroy, and part of a healthy prayer life should include praying for the advancement of the kingdom in the world and for God to deliver us.
