Hurry Up & Wait, Part One
Discussion & Practice
- Read 2 Peter 3:1-18. What does it mean to wait for and hasten the coming of the day of God according to this passage?
- In what ways have you considered either urgency or patience to be a higher value than the other? How has this passage challenged you to live in the tension between the two?
- The passage emphasizes that God's timing and purposes are different from ours. How does understanding that "with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day" affect your perception of waiting for God’s promises?
- What practical steps can you take to reduce hurry in your own life and create more space for God?
- In what ways do I need a greater sense of urgency in my life to fight against spiritual apathy?
- Who in your life needs to hear the gospel this week and how are you planning on sharing it?
**Prayer + Practice: **
Pray through Psalm 90 this week, especially the prayer in verse 12, "So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom." Ask God where you need an eternal perspective to either slow down or speed up.
