Make it Rain, James 5:13-18
Discussion & Practice
- Read James 5:13-18. What does the connection between physical and spiritual healing teach us about God’s saving work as a whole in our lives?
- When verse 15 refers to the "prayer of faith," is it emphasizing the amount of our faith or the object of our faith? Defend your answer from Scripture (Look up Luke 17:5-6 and Hebrews 12:1-3 for help).
- Timothy Keller said that prayer is "the way we finally treat God as God." If you're struggling to pray, what might that say of your view of God as the object of your faith in this season?
- Verse 16 says, "The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working." Do you believe that prayer really works? Do you pray like you believe it?
- In what ways do you know that prayer is still working even when we don't get the answer we are looking for?
- What is your biggest obstacle in confessing your sins to someone else?
